As the Senior Manager of Strategic Resourcing in Research & Development at AbbVie, you will play a crucial role in implementing global resource strategies and overseeing budgeting initiatives aimed at fulfilling organizational goals. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all functional areas align with the current Plan and updated budget. You will strategically project and manage resource allocation and budgeting in collaboration with functional leaders, Business Operations, and Finance, leveraging your understanding of both current and future business landscapes. Your influence will extend globally, where you will manage resourcing connections across various business units and comprehend the implications of business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the forecasting and management of resources and budgets, including short-term and long-term forecasts, while assessing the implications of alternative development scenarios.
- Provide strategic leadership and recommendations to ensure that all functions operate within the established Plan and budget, partnering with functional leaders to plan for upcoming initiatives and projects.
- Deliver comprehensive portfolio timelines and cost estimates to evaluate resource allocation and financial opportunities, negotiating with other functions to balance competing demands such as time, cost, and quality.
- Collaborate with the VP to set departmental objectives, providing guidance on critical business matters and making strategic decisions that impact the department and overall business.
- Engage with Development teams to initiate projects that enhance operational performance, foster a positive culture, and improve decision-making processes.
- Build and maintain relationships across various functional areas in AbbVie to support Development's goals aligned with strategic imperatives, and work with CFO and Development teams to strengthen collaboration and identify practical solutions.
- Act as a financial resource expert, establishing connections with key finance stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and management of tools and processes that ensure employee proficiency with departmental systems and guidelines.
