YOUR ROLE
In your position as a Senior Hardware Systems Engineer at Seakeeper, you will play a pivotal role in the integration and design of our specialized electronics control solutions that enhance vessel stability for our Seakeeper and Seakeeper Ride systems. This encompasses in-house system configuration and the design of brushless DC drives and motor powertrains. Your contributions will be critical to the success of our innovative products through the following responsibilities:
- Taking a lead role in developing custom embedded hardware devices and power electronics by collaborating closely with our electronics design and controls teams to create cohesive motor powertrains and systems.
- Overseeing system requirements design which includes:
- Gathering and formalizing requirements where none currently exist.
- Facilitating engineering consensus across various disciplines.
- Ensuring engineering continuity throughout the development process.
- Communicating technical risks effectively through data-driven analysis.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation throughout the development cycle, including specifications, test plans, unit requirements documents, and product-level certifications.
- Providing crucial feedback during the development process to ensure product specifications and our strict quality and safety standards are upheld through reviews of electrical product designs and test data.
- Supporting and guiding other engineering functions on electrical product validation and design.
- Mentoring junior engineers to enhance their technical skills.
