Join our dynamic Fintech team, the driving force behind Hopper's most innovative and high-margin products, including Cancel for Any Reason and Disruption Assistance. Your mission will be to design, build, and scale the backend systems that support these unique fintech offerings, collaborating with leading travel industry partners such as airlines, banks, and hotels through our B2B platform, Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS).
This pivotal role is integral to Hopper's B2B strategy, responsible for creating highly available, globally scaled systems that ensure peace of mind for millions of travelers and significantly boost revenue for the company.
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help us shape the future of travel fintech for our HTS APAC and Enterprise airline partners.
Your Daily Responsibilities
Develop features dynamically in an agile environment utilizing Scala and React (previous experience not required) along with technologies like GCP, OpenAPI, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub.
Determine optimal strategies for building core systems within our microservices architecture.
Deploy your first code within days, continuously iterating on features.
Engage in collaboration with a diverse team, offering and receiving constructive feedback for professional growth.
Seize significant opportunities that elevate Hopper to the forefront of the travel industry.
Who You Are
You possess a deep understanding of industry-leading techniques and technologies.
You have a solid grasp of distributed systems, and understand how architectural choices impact performance and maintainability.
You thrive in cross-functional teams, collaborating seamlessly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other top-tier specialists.
You are passionate about quality, producing testable, high-performance, and scalable code.
You can operate with minimal oversight, demonstrating proactivity and the ability to navigate uncertainty and changing goals.
Previous experience with cloud infrastructure is preferred.
Experience with Scala and/or React and its libraries is a plus.
