Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough searches and analyze results to differentiate responsive documents from non-responsive ones, identifying any applicable privileges or FOIA exemptions.
- Redact and categorize responsive documents appropriately.
- Execute legal research and draft essential legal documents.
Qualifications:
- A paralegal certificate, Juris Doctor (JD), or enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed is mandatory.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a litigation paralegal is required; trial experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, or other eDiscovery and document review tools is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- In-depth knowledge of FOIA regulations and proficiency in applying exemptions.
- Must possess fundamental legal knowledge, including standard legal citation for document verification, and experience with legal research platforms like LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with familiarity with various computer applications, including word processing and database management systems.
