Your Role
In the capacity of Senior Manager for Flight Control Actuation, you will spearhead a multidisciplinary team responsible for critical safety systems in our aircraft. Reporting to the broader flight controls and actuation leadership, you will define technical strategies, prioritize initiatives across concurrent programs, and collaborate closely with program managers to meet stringent timelines. This leadership position requires a blend of technical expertise, team development, and project management, as we bring an innovative aircraft to market.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and expand a team of systems and mechanical engineers focused on flight control surface actuation, tilt, and blade pitch systems.
Manage the planning, prioritization, and execution of tasks within the team for the VA-1X demonstrator and Valo programs.
Establish clear technical direction for actuation system architecture, design maturity, and verification processes.
Collaborate with program managers to synchronize engineering efforts with overall project milestones and timelines.
Ensure actuation systems comply with safety, performance, and certification standards.
Cultivate a culture of independence, learning, and accountability within the team.
Mentor engineers and managers, promoting technical growth, career advancement, and succession planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in flight controls, structures, propulsion, safety, and certification to create integrated solutions.
Your Qualifications
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, particularly in aerospace or related fields.
Strong technical background in flight control systems and actuation technologies.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple programs simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to align engineering plans with project objectives and timelines.
Experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent.
