About the Role:
Become a vital member of our dedicated team, driving the design and complete production lifecycle of Planet’s state-of-the-art satellite constellation. This role offers you the opportunity to take ownership from concept through to launch, optimizing for medium-scale mass production. If you're passionate about technology that contributes to a mission of global monitoring and transformation, and the prospect of seeing your hardware launched into space excites you, then this is the perfect fit. We seek an engineer who excels in a dynamic environment and is eager to elevate our satellite designs.
This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring in-office work in San Francisco three days a week.
Your Impact:
- Design electrical systems for analog, power, thermal, and mixed-signal subsystems from requirements through architecture and detailed design.
- Perform schematic capture and power/signal integrity simulations; guide and review layout designs.
- Design harnesses including component selection, signal definition, collaboration with mechanical engineers to define lengths, and creation of fabrication drawings.
- Oversee design validation and qualification campaigns including power/signal integrity, EMI/EMC, interoperability, and more.
- Engage in analog and mixed-signal design, interfacing with thermal systems, sensors, and actuators.
