Your Mission
We are seeking a Senior eCommerce Underwriter to enhance our dynamic Underwriting team. Reporting directly to the Director of eCommerce Underwriting, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and assessing merchant application referrals from Nuvei’s eComm, Base Direct, and US/CAN Partners sales channels to evaluate their creditworthiness. Adhering to all Nuvei credit policies and guidelines, you will work to mitigate financial and reputational risks. The Senior eCommerce Underwriter will collaborate extensively with the Loss Prevention and Sales teams to identify risk factors and market trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough credit and risk analysis of merchant applications to assess creditworthiness while identifying potential risks.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills to evaluate data, derive meaningful insights, prepare comprehensive written summaries in line with departmental procedures, and propose holistic business recommendations.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with partners, merchants, and various internal teams.
- Efficiently process applications using analytical thinking to optimize the underwriting department's workload and timelines.
- Address internal and external inquiries related to underwriting issues.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior underwriters on accounts with exposure up to $700,000, and authorize fund releases up to $15,000 as necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting within the bankcard industry is essential.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong understanding of enhanced due diligence requirements for strategic ventures.
