We are in search of a Senior Director of Value-Based Care (VBC) Finance to take charge of financial analysis, oversight, reporting, and strategic review of all private payer value-based contracts. This role requires collaboration across various functions including accounting, FP&A, treasury, operations, data & analytics, legal, and payer contracting. It is a pivotal and highly visible position for an experienced healthcare finance leader who excels at the intersection of data, strategy, and execution.
What You Will Do
Contract Evaluation & Performance
- Analyze and evaluate active payer contracts spanning Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Medicaid sectors.
- Examine contract language, assess risk levels, shared savings, quality metrics, PMPM terms, data specifications, financial implications, and accounting treatments.
- Assess new contracts by analyzing historical performance, modeling future financial implications, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Incorporate new contracts into existing reporting and performance monitoring frameworks in partnership with payer contracting and operational teams.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Aggregate and analyze payer reporting to evaluate contract-level financial performance (revenue, expenses, MLR).
- Generate performance summaries and insights for senior leadership and investors, escalating issues and variances as necessary.
- Monitor the effects of advance cash mechanisms on revenue versus cash treatment.
- Present findings to senior executives, provider partners, and payers at various meetings.
Payer Communication & Engagement
- Engage actively in Joint Operating Committee (JOC) and other monthly payer meetings; take ownership of performance tracking and follow-up actions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for interpreting payer-reported financial data.
