Your Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Payments team, you will be instrumental in designing and constructing a secure, scalable, and cloud-native foundation for our new payments platform. Reporting to the Head of Payments Engineering, you will be responsible for infrastructure decisions from the outset, helping to realize our vision of on-chain money and the Open Money Stack. This role offers a unique chance to develop greenfield infrastructure for a highly impactful platform at the confluence of finance and decentralized technology. You will collaborate with a dynamic, remote-first team that prioritizes teamwork, automation, and meticulous engineering, working hand-in-hand with application engineers to ensure the payments platform is robust, secure, and ready for production at scale.
Your Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure for the Polygon Labs payments platform, initially focusing on Google Cloud Platform.
Implement and sustain infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform, with an emphasis on modularity, reusability, and long-term scalability.
Collaborate closely with payments application engineers to define infrastructure needs and enhance CI/CD pipelines, observability, and runtime operations.
Adopt security-first principles across networking, compute, and deployment workflows to guarantee high availability, integrity, and performance.
Automate deployment and operational processes to enhance reliability and developer experience.
Establish and refine infrastructure best practices in alignment with site reliability engineering principles.
What You’ll Need
At least 6 years of experience in building and managing cloud-native infrastructure in production settings.
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Terraform.
Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices.
A solid understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
