About the job
At Crusoe, we are on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We are developing the foundational engine that empowers a future where individuals can innovate boldly with AI, achieving unprecedented scale, speed, and sustainability.
Join us in revolutionizing AI with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you will drive impactful innovation, make a significant difference, and collaborate with a team that is leading the way in responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.
About This Role:
Our advanced AI Cloud is supported by a high-performance, low-latency storage infrastructure. The approach we take to source, deploy, and manage our block, file, and object storage platforms is a crucial competitive advantage. We are seeking an experienced leader to take ownership of our comprehensive commercial and supply chain strategy for the storage category.
This pivotal role extends beyond conventional purchasing; you will be the primary owner tasked with formulating long-term category plans, spearheading intricate negotiations with prominent OEMs and component suppliers, and designing a supply chain that accommodates our rapid global growth. You will work closely with our Storage Engineering, Infrastructure, and Data Center Operations leadership to create a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective storage ecosystem that shapes the future of computing.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development: Formulate and implement long-term sourcing strategies for all storage hardware, including all-flash/hybrid arrays (block and file), compute and storage servers, and essential components (SSDs, HDDs, controllers, memory).
Negotiation Leadership: Lead complex negotiations with key storage OEMs (e.g., VAST Data, Pure Storage, Dell, HPE), ODMs (e.g., Supermicro, Wiwynn), and vital component suppliers to secure advantageous pricing, capacity, and long-term supply agreements.
Supply Chain Architecture: Develop and execute a robust supply chain model for storage hardware, encompassing demand forecasting, inventory strategy, and global logistics.
Market Intelligence: Act as the in-house expert on the storage market (NAND, HDD, DRAM), delivering insights on technology trends, cost models, and competitive landscape.
