Role Overview: As the Senior Associate of Investment Accounting, you will play a crucial role in compiling monthly and quarterly investment data for Fortitude Re. Your responsibilities will include analyzing net investment income, realized gains and losses, and investment yields across different asset classes. You will support the recording of activities into the General Ledger (GL), conduct reconciliations, assist with audits, and contribute to various ad hoc projects as the company continues to grow. This position reports to the VP or AVP, Investment Accounting Manager, providing opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the accounting close process, including the preparation of journal entries and corresponding balance sheet reconciliations for both GAAP and STAT accounting bases.
- Conduct detailed analytical reviews of investment income, yields, fair value changes, and realized/unrealized gains and losses.
- Support quarterly and annual statutory and GAAP investment disclosures and footnotes.
