Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant is essential in overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring financial process accuracy and integrity. This role collaborates with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), operations, and executive leadership to facilitate month-end closings, financial reporting, and continuous process enhancements. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical accounting skills, relevant experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or a comparable product-focused field, and hands-on expertise with cloud-based accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting:
- Facilitate and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Prepare and audit journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and accruals.
- Maintain a compliant general ledger following U.S. GAAP standards.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), inventory, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Support revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
- Assist with external audits, tax submissions, and regulatory reporting.
- Serve as a primary user for Certinia/FinancialForce, ensuring accuracy in data and process integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with FP&A in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Identify and implement opportunities to optimize workflows and enhance internal controls.
- Contribute to the creation of scalable accounting processes to support business growth.
