Position Summary:
As a Senior Accountant at ESR Group, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations for our Stabilised and Development Funds. This includes preparing monthly and year-end financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize financial reporting processes.
Core Responsibilities:
• Month-End Reporting
o Prepare and/or review comprehensive monthly management reports for the Stabilised and Development Funds and associated entities.
o Generate detailed financial statements, including budget analyses, investment property summaries, and aging reports.
• Monthly Tasks
o Analyze fund-level P&L statements and provide insightful variance commentary.
o Manage IFRS, AASB16, loan drawdown entries, and relevant trust-level journals.
o Reconcile Balance Sheet items such as prepayments and accruals.
o Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of financial results.
• Daily Operations
o Conduct bank reconciliations in partnership with an outsourced provider.
o Verify payments against bank statements, Yardi, and invoices.
o Carry out vendor verification processes as necessary.
• Tax Compliance
o Prepare monthly and quarterly BAS reports.
o Draft annual income tax returns and perform necessary calculations.
o Develop distribution tax calculations as needed.
• Process Improvement Initiatives
o Actively identify and implement process enhancements and system improvements.
o Engage in team projects and take ownership of deliverables related to process improvements.
• Ad-Hoc Responsibilities
o Support internal and external auditors by resolving queries and assisting with year-end statutory accounts preparation.
o Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures in daily operations.
o Prepare legal documentation and facilitate execution as necessary.
o Assist in preparing quarterly and half-yearly loan covenant calculations, collaborating with the Treasury and Funds Team for accuracy and timely submissions.
