As a Sales Engineer/Estimator at Essel Environmental, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our clients by responding swiftly to Requests for Quotations (RFQs). This position requires engaging with customers and expertly estimating a wide array of materials, labor, components, and external services to create comprehensive quotes tailored to our clients' specific needs. You will manage a diverse range of projects, collaborating closely with our Purchasing, Fabrication, Assembly, and Installation teams to ensure that project specifications are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating proficiency in various contract types such as Lump Sum, Time and Materials, and Fixed Fee/Cost Reimbursable. Candidates must also be skilled in analyzing proposals, blueprints, and specifications to discern labor, material, and time requirements.
- Expertise in creating detailed Bills of Materials for Skids, Piping, Storage Tanks, Vessels, and Ducting is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel at an intermediate level is required.
- Strong project management abilities, along with excellent mathematical skills and a talent for building relationships, are vital for enhancing customer satisfaction, loyalty, and sales growth.
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate the capacity to make informed decisions regarding complex sales and profit dynamics. Skills in evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotes, conceptual estimating, and performing quantity take-offs are critical. The ability to adapt to changing priorities and bid on turnkey projects involving multiple disciplines (e.g., Pipefitter, Millwright, Welder, Fabricator) is necessary, along with knowledge of fabrication techniques. While a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is advantageous, experience with estimating equipment such as Plating Lines, Washer Systems, Tanks, Piping, Water Treatment Systems, and Pump and Filtration Skids, as well as familiarity with fabrication methods, will be considered valuable assets.
