About the team:
The Fleet Operations Team is responsible for driving uptime and operational performance across Formic’s expanding fleet of robotic systems. Operating within active manufacturing environments, this team expertly diagnoses issues, restores production, and continuously enhances system reliability at scale. Fleet Operations stands at the crossroads of robotics, controls, and practical factory execution, ensuring that Formic’s automation delivers consistent and measurable performance across a wide range of industrial applications.
About the role:
As a Robotics Field Service Engineer, you will be the vital point of technical ownership for Formic’s deployed robotic cells. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing system failures, restoring production capabilities, conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, and serving as Formic’s representative in customer facilities.
This role is hands-on and demands a high level of accountability in uptime-critical environments. Success hinges on your strong troubleshooting skills, ability to maintain composure during production interruptions, and commitment to meticulous documentation. Your contributions will directly influence fleet performance, customer satisfaction, and the long-term reliability of our systems.
In this role, you will:
- Execute preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells.
- Respond to both remote and on-site escalations, diagnose root causes, and restore systems promptly.
- Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
- Document service activities, asset updates, and maintenance records diligently.
