Due to our ongoing growth and expansion, we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Research and Development Scientist to join our team in Luton.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Research and Development Scientist with diverse and extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related fields. This position will initially be offered on a rolling contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The incumbent will be responsible for meticulous planning and execution of maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted productivity. Collaboration with various departments to achieve production targets while adhering to MHRA and cGMP compliance standards will also be a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrate current knowledge of scientific literature, conducting research and leveraging existing knowledge with a focus on information formulation, analytical processes, and development.
• Execute daily tasks with minimal supervision and develop a clear formulation development plan.
• Author and review formulation development sections of regulatory and technical documents, including manufacturing batch records, process validation protocols, and study reports.
• Conduct process optimization and validation using up-to-date information from relevant sources.
• Participate in the preparation and execution of stability studies according to ICH norms for exhibit and developmental batches, closely monitoring stability results.
• Lead and mentor research scientists in conducting research and development work, resolving development challenges, and enhancing product quality.
• Provide technical support to related functions such as Production, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Costing, and Purchasing.
• Engage in general laboratory and instrument maintenance.
About You:
• A minimum of a Science degree with a specialization in Engineering or Technology.
• Significant experience in a similar role within a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of integrity and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels while navigating cultural differences effectively.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to prioritize a busy workload to meet deadlines.
