Join our dynamic team at Pavago as a WordPress Developer! In this fully remote position, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain high-quality WordPress websites. We are looking for a talented individual who excels in theme customization, plugin development, performance enhancement, and website security. Your mission will be to ensure that our websites are visually captivating, responsive, and optimized for speed, SEO, and user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Website Development:
- Create and customize WordPress sites utilizing various themes, page builders (like Elementor, Divi, WPBakery), or through custom coding.
- Develop and modify child themes to ensure long-term maintainability.
- Craft custom templates for landing pages, blogs, and sites rich in content.
- Plugin Management & Customization:
- Install, configure, and tailor plugins to meet functional requirements (e.g., WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Contact Form 7).
- Extend or build plugins using PHP as required.
- Ensure plugin compatibility with themes and software updates.
- Front-End & UX:
- Transform designs from Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD into pixel-perfect WordPress pages.
- Guarantee responsive design across browsers and devices.
- Implement accessibility best practices in line with WCAG standards.
- Performance Optimization:
- Enhance site speed via caching, minification, lazy loading, and CDN integration.
- Conduct performance audits using tools like Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, or PageSpeed Insights.
- Boost Core Web Vitals to enhance SEO and usability.
- Security & Maintenance:
- Regularly update WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
- Strengthen security using tools such as Wordfence, Sucuri, or iThemes Security.
- Establish routine backups and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Coordinate with marketing, content, and design teams to ensure web assets align with campaigns.
- Troubleshoot site issues, resolve bugs, and assist non-technical team members with CMS usage.
