Overview
Customer Value Partners (CVP) is actively seeking passionate Registered Nurses to join our team dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency care to our Nation's Veterans at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center in Fort Thomas. This pivotal role involves providing critical care to Veterans experiencing acute medical conditions within the Emergency Department.
We offer a variety of positions, including full-time, part-time, and PRN contracts to accommodate diverse schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Apply comprehensive clinical expertise to assess, implement health promotion strategies, and manage acute illnesses and injuries in an emergency context.
Conduct swift patient evaluations and triage to prioritize care according to urgency.
Initiate necessary emergency interventions, treatments, and procedures following established protocols.
Continuously monitor and assess changes in patient conditions, promptly addressing life-threatening situations.
Deliver patient-centered care by formulating care plans and addressing significant changes in health status.
Accurately document patient assessments and care plans in the electronic medical records within mandated timeframes.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring 100% accuracy with Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA).
Perform various emergency nursing procedures, including IV insertion, central line management, wound care, and blood product administration.
Facilitate patient flow in the emergency department, managing admissions and discharges effectively.
Conduct cardiac monitoring and interpret basic cardiac rhythms.
Actively participate in emergency situations, including resuscitation efforts.
Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, patients, and their families.
Exemplify the VA core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE).
Complete daily CPRS clinical alerts and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Support trauma response and mass casualty protocols as needed.
Qualifications
At least one year of recent experience in Emergency Department nursing.
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program recognized by the appropriate State agency.
Possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted registered nurse license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
Proven proficiency in emergency nursing practices and dedicated patient care.
