POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all raw ingredients, materials, packaging, and finished products adhere to regulatory standards while exceeding customer expectations. This position involves managing product quality tracking systems, complying with state regulations, and supporting both internal and external audits. The primary objective is to ensure conformity with all Green Thumb policies and relevant federal, state, county, and municipal laws.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Quality Department in ensuring all team members understand and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials to guarantee compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Perform in-process and finished product sampling as necessary.
- Oversee the positive release of finished goods, reviewing batch documentation, packaging, labeling, logbooks, test results, and production paperwork.
- Maintain accurate documentation practices and ensure all records are properly filed and maintained.
- Support the segregation, control, and disposition of non-conforming products.
- Identify, recommend, and provide quality training as needed.
- Manage the maintenance and control of production quality records.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager and production teams to investigate root causes of quality incidents and document corrective actions.
- Continuously evaluate the existing quality system and propose improvements.
- Lead improvement projects as identified.
- Monitor compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
- Uphold safe work practices and food safety protocols, maintaining a sanitary environment and reporting any issues that might compromise product safety or personnel well-being.
- Foster a positive work atmosphere.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and sanitation verification of production areas as required.
- Perform allergen and environmental swabbing activities as needed.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
