Job Summary: The Punch Prep Technician plays a vital role in the manufacturing process by effectively preparing and setting up equipment and materials for punch press operations. This position also involves performing fire caulking tasks to ensure compliance with fire safety standards. The technician will be responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring all components are properly prepared to meet production standards, and strictly adhering to established safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and Preparation:
- Accurately prepare and set up punch press machines according to specific production requirements.
- Load materials into machines, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections to confirm that all equipment functions correctly.
- Fire Caulking:
- Apply fire-resistant caulking to designated areas to uphold fire barriers and prevent fire spread.
- Ensure all caulking materials comply with current fire safety codes and standards.
- Inspect existing caulking and perform repairs to maintain effective fire resistance.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of punch press machines.
- Troubleshoot minor issues with equipment and materials, resolving them efficiently.
- Report any major equipment malfunctions or failures to the maintenance team.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Document and report any discrepancies or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Safety and Compliance:
