The Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting the financial health of various projects. This position ensures adherence to financial policies and procedures while meeting all contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities include facilitating accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with local, state, and corporate regulations, and maintaining a deep understanding of revenue recognition, project invoicing, journal entries, and general accounting practices.
The ideal candidate will support both management and clients by translating financial insights into comprehensible reports for non-financial stakeholders. This includes overseeing fiscal operations related to financial planning, fund management, accounting, reporting, and disbursement processes.
Additionally, the Project Accountant will be responsible for executing month-end closing activities, processing payroll, managing accounts payable, and preparing customer invoices. The role also involves preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements across multiple funding streams while communicating the financial position of contracts.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
