JOB POSITION SUMMARY
The Procurement and Materials Manager is pivotal in overseeing material deliveries and procurement activities while adhering to the project's budget, scope, and schedule. Serving as the primary liaison between Konecranes' project team and both internal and external material suppliers, this role is critical for ensuring timely project execution. Our success and sustainability hinge on effective cost tracking and budget adherence. Open communication among Material Management, Engineering, Project Management, and Production is essential to address challenges and provide constructive feedback. This position, akin to that of a Project Engineer, encompasses additional sourcing and procurement responsibilities and serves as an excellent pathway to Project Management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret inputs from Project Management regarding schedules and budgets, along with engineering specifications, to transform requisitions into actionable Purchase Orders.
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers and vendors to ensure accurate material delivery at designated locations as per project requirements.
- Act as a key connector within the project team, ensuring on-time and on-budget project execution, while continuously updating management on material status, as material availability significantly affects project execution.
- Finalize and manage the Project Bill of Material to align with delivery schedules and scope.
- Ensure project-specific purchasing is completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor purchases against budgets and report any discrepancies to the Project team as necessary.
- Resolve delivery or cost-related issues with suppliers.
- Maintain and update project materials and the manufacturing Bill of Materials within Teamcenter and SAP systems.
- Provide management with critical insights on pricing trends and supplier feedback as required.
- Participate in supplier onboarding and site visits when necessary.
- Serve as the sole contact point between Konecranes and suppliers/vendors for project-related purchases.
- Manage vendor non-conformance issues.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
