We are on the lookout for a Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to become part of our expanding Investigations and Remediation team. You will have the flexibility to work from any of our offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Plymouth, with options for hybrid working arrangements.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the delivery of ground investigation, contamination assessment, and remediation projects, serving as project manager and providing technical guidance.
The AECOM Investigations and Remediation Practice in the UK&I is currently managing approximately 400 active projects. Our team offers comprehensive services, including desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments, remediation (strategy development, design, implementation, and validation), monitoring, and project close-out across various contracts. Our work encompasses sectors such as transportation (roads, railways, airports, and ports), industrial clients, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, renewables (solar, hydrogen, wind, and pump-hydro), developers, defense, and public entities like Natural England and the National Trust, as well as government agencies including the Environment Agency, SEPA, DEFRA, and local authorities.
Our award-winning team caters to a diverse range of end markets and clients. We collaborate with prominent UK and international clients on projects of varying scales. Some of our recent endeavors include the Thames Tideway, HS2, Net Zero Teesside, and the A303 Stonehenge project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare fee proposals for both external and internal clients, guiding projects from desk study and feasibility through ground investigation and data interpretation to final design.
- Provide technical direction to facilitate the development of conceptual site models, interpret soil and groundwater data, and drive projects through to remediation.
- Engage with clients, manage projects, oversee commercial and contract management, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with regulations.
