Position Overview
As a vital member of our Global Supplier Development team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing supplier capabilities, improving design and manufacturing performance, and ensuring long-term supply resilience across our international network. The team's mission is to proactively elevate supplier maturity, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and align supplier capability growth with strategic goals to ensure product quality, operational excellence, and readiness for New Product Introductions (NPI).
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate supplier quality and technology gaps while executing corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering early in the design phase to achieve target costs and design for excellence (DFx), identifying opportunities for cost reduction and waste elimination.
- Assess supplier processes and risks, partnering to enhance capabilities through lean supplier development methodologies, including Six Sigma, while implementing risk mitigation plans.
- Leverage engineering and materials science expertise to enhance supplier capacity, product quality, yield, and cost reduction.
- Work closely with Category leaders to drive long-term category strategies that support significant production scaling.
- Align development initiatives with long-term strategies while fostering partnerships with suppliers.
- Conduct on-site assessments of suppliers to evaluate capabilities and identify gaps during the selection process.
- Implement improvement plans with suppliers to ensure readiness and support NPI initiatives.
- Coordinate with Business and Key Product Unit Engineering teams globally to meet end-use specifications.
- Advance manufacturing capabilities, including DFMEA / FMEA, and implement Process Control Systems and PFMEA at key sites.
