BEUMER Corporation is on the lookout for a seasoned Principal Controls Engineer who possesses extensive knowledge in high-throughput material handling automation, intricate machine control systems, or large-scale industrial solutions.

Your contributions will be pivotal to the development of BEUMER’s core control technologies, utilized across high-speed sorting systems, advanced packaging & palletizing solutions, and airport baggage handling systems.
Responsibilities
Core Technical Responsibilities
- Design, enhance, and maintain PLC-based control systems for sophisticated material-handling equipment and high-speed sorting platforms.
- Convert customer specifications and system requirements into clear, efficient, and dependable control logic.
- Examine electrical schematics, network architectures, and functional documentation as part of system development.
- Assist in technology deployment for live projects, including testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborate with electrical engineering teams on I/O structures, network configurations, and hardware selections.
- Coordinate with software engineers to ensure seamless communication layers and system interactions.
- Engage in in-house testing (FAT), on-site commissioning, and provide project support as necessary.
Global Technical Alignment
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine control technologies and industrial automation trends.
- Work alongside BEUMER’s global engineering teams—including those in Europe—to uphold consistent controls standards and technical direction.
- Play a key role in the evolution of BEUMER’s global control platform strategy.
Additional Engineering Tasks
- Prepare and test PLC hardware for projects as assigned.
- Offer second-tier technical support for escalations that require advanced troubleshooting.
- Assist in development initiatives for packaging/palletizing or airport systems when necessary.
Compensation range: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 Annually
