We are seeking a dedicated Principal Assistant to oversee the management and coordination of all technical systems and maintenance activities in our facilities. Your primary focus will be on ensuring operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and effective team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the maintenance and modification efforts for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, gas, sewage, kitchen, and security systems.
Supervise the daily operations of technical teams and external contractors.
Oversee the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure optimal performance.
Establish and uphold preventive maintenance programs, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Plan and facilitate upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management of systems.
Manage outages and risk assessments, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Keep comprehensive technical documentation and maintain “as-built” records.
Direct repair, maintenance, and construction activities within the building.
Assist with the installation of technical equipment, laboratory setups, and office relocations.
Contribute to budgeting processes, reporting, and drafting Statements of Work (SOWs) and contracts.
Participate in on-call duties as required.
Qualifications
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in facilities or building maintenance.
Extensive knowledge of electrical distribution systems compliant with TIA standards.
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, BMS, and overall building infrastructure.
Familiarity with fire safety and technical regulations.
Proven experience in managing technical staff and contractors effectively.
Strong administrative skills, with expertise in reporting and documentation tools.
Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with strong prioritization skills.
Fluent in English, with a working knowledge of French.
Desirable Skills
Experience with audiovisual and presentation systems.
Knowledge of generators, plumbing, and heating systems.
Background working in international or NATO environments.
Awareness and understanding of hazardous materials handling procedures.
