Join our dynamic team as a Per Diem BSN Instructor, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of nursing education. In this position, you will deliver Nursing courses encompassing lectures, labs, and clinical experiences, fostering an engaging learning environment for our students.
Instruction Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning through effective instruction and assessments during clinicals, labs, or simulated clinical experiences (SCE), adhering to each course's standard outline to ensure students meet required competencies as per the syllabus.
- Supervise, debrief, and assess students in various settings, including labs and clinicals, appropriate to the course.
- Provide support to students through email, phone, or in-person meetings.
- Commit to attending all classes and fulfilling scheduled responsibilities, including clinical hours and meetings, and promptly notify the Program Director/Academic Dean if a scheduling conflict arises.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in classrooms and labs after each session.
Training and Professional Development
- Engage in New Faculty Orientation and participate in the Faculty Mentor Program.
- Develop and maintain a faculty development plan with the support of academic administration.
- Participate in faculty meetings, in-service training, and other assigned meetings.
- Stay current with program knowledge by maintaining licensure, certification, and continuing education as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities.
Administrative Duties
- Accurately record and submit attendance via the portal for each class period and maintain course records in compliance with FERPA regulations.
- Assign grades and submit academic records by established deadlines.
- Contact students who miss labs or clinical sessions to ensure they remain engaged in learning outcomes.
- Adhere to and promote the Academic Freedom policy as outlined in the Faculty handbook.
- Complete additional tasks as determined by the Program Administrator, Lead Instructor, or Academic Dean.
*Collaborate with fellow instructors in the preparation, administration, and grading of examinations for the course, contributing to the preparation of final evaluations.
*Ensure class attendance and grading are meticulously documented and submitted on time.
*Assist in strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality.
*Plan and implement orientation for new faculty members in both theoretical and clinical contexts.
*Utilize educational principles that accommodate adult learners and continuously strive to enhance instructional quality.
