We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to manage pediatric otolaryngology patients, providing both new patient evaluations and follow-up care in an outpatient environment. The APP will operate within independent clinics while having the opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary specialty clinics. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive history and physical exams, performing specialized ear, nose, and throat evaluations, including airway assessments and microscopic ear examinations. The APP will also order and interpret diagnostic tests, manage medication and treatment plans, facilitate admissions and referrals, and participate in surgical candidacy and planning. Accurate documentation and billing practices are essential. In collaboration with the clinic's registered nurse, the APP will assist in triaging in-basket messages, addressing calls, messages, and order requests from external facilities.
This role embodies a high level of clinical sophistication, necessitating exceptional professional skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing procedures on children and delivering family-centered care. Procedures may include nasal endoscopy, airway endoscopy, microscopic ear cleanings, epistaxis control, tongue tie release, and ear molding.

Job Summary
The APP will be part of a collaborative team that includes attending physicians, fellows, and a dedicated group of advanced practice providers, comprising both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. This respected team is integral to the educational development of fellows and visiting residents. Responsibilities include receiving sign-out from the overnight team, pre-rounding on assigned patients, creating daily care plans, presenting cases during rounds, and documenting daily notes. The APP will implement care plans established during rounds and address any concerns raised by nursing staff throughout the day. Credentialed procedures for the advanced practice provider may include intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion and removal, PD drain placement, and pacing wire removal.
Nurse Practitioner (NP): The Nurse Practitioner operates under a standardized protocol approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC), providing routine and complex care for patients with acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians through standardized procedures.
