Join our team at Northwestern Medicine as a Patient Care Technician in the Delnor Critical Care Unit, working full-time nights! Your schedule will consist of three 12-hour shifts per week from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, with every third weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and rotating holidays required.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will engage in essential patient care activities, contributing to the well-being of our patients.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Performing basic nursing care activities as assigned by an RN, including vital sign monitoring, blood glucose testing, and recording patient intake and output.
- Assisting patients with personal care and daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, and feeding.
- Reporting any abnormal findings or changes in a patient's physical, mental, or emotional state to nursing staff.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in patient rooms.
- Demonstrating adaptability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations.
- Utilizing critical thinking to prioritize and efficiently complete unit tasks as patient and staff needs evolve.
- Acting as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.
- Answering calls and intercoms courteously, communicating information to relevant staff, patients, or family members.
- Collaborating with the charge RN and/or assistant manager to manage unit workflow as needed.
- Conducting pre-census and validating daily admission, discharge, and census lists as required.
