Job Summary
As a Parts Counter Sales Associate, you will be responsible for selling parts to customers over the counter, in our shop, and via phone. Your role is crucial in assisting both customers and technicians by fulfilling all parts requirements while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist retail and shop customers in selecting the necessary parts in a professional and friendly manner.
- Inform customers about companion part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of our complete product offerings.
- Manage incoming and outgoing phone communications, providing price quotes and pertinent information.
- Review service estimates to confirm order correctness and alignment with pricing.
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
- Pull and fill orders from stock for local deliveries and outside sales staff.
- Alert the parts manager regarding out-of-stock items or materials requiring immediate attention.
- Source emergency non-stock items from alternative vendors.
- Keep both service advisors and customers updated on the status of special orders.
- Ensure all parts for internal customers are correctly labeled with names and job numbers.
- Follow up on back-ordered items and monitor aging will-call parts.
- Conduct weekly verification of will-call and back-order files and ensure local special-order items are returned or stocked.
- Replenish assigned inventory daily.
- Assist outside sales representatives with technical, inventory, and pricing information.
- Ensure all internal parts requests are billed on service repair orders.
- Process payments from retail customers or obtain credit approvals.
