Job Summary
The Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) at PetSmart plays a vital role in creating positive experiences for pet parents and their pets. This position is responsible for upholding our company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy while ensuring the cleanliness and safety standards of the store and the pets within it.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging with pet parents in person, over the phone, and online to ensure excellent service.
- Greeting customers and assisting with inquiries throughout the store.
- Preparing online orders for in-store pickup to guarantee a seamless experience.
- Caring for the store's pets, including feeding, watering, and maintaining clean habitats.
- Upholding cleanliness standards across the store.
- Assisting with pricing changes and promotional displays.
- Organizing new products to align with sales floor plans.
- Restocking and organizing products to meet sales floor standards.
- Recommending and selling merchandise, services, and live pets.
- Administering medications to store pets as directed by a veterinarian.
- Promoting special events such as adoption weekends and charity initiatives.
- Ensuring a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
- Taking immediate action for sick or injured pets and coordinating care as needed.
- Assisting in various store departments as required. Other tasks may be assigned.
- Contributing to a culture of belonging and recognition.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
