Equivity is on the lookout for a dedicated part-time virtual paralegal with substantial, hands-on experience in supporting attorneys within the realm of bankruptcy law, with a strong focus on Chapter 11 cases. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of three years of relevant bankruptcy experience, demonstrating the ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple attorney client relationships.
This remote position allows you to collaborate with a diverse portfolio of attorneys across the United States, handling both business and consumer bankruptcy matters.
Key Qualifications:
Extensive experience with Chapter 11, including Subchapter V cases.
Comprehensive knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 procedures.
Strong technical proficiency in bankruptcy case management software.
Proven track record of success in remote work environments and client communication.
Responsibilities:
Assist in Chapter 11 matters, including the preparation of voluntary petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, monthly operating reports, disclosure statements, and plans of reorganization (Subchapter V experience preferred).
Draft and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, and related pleadings.
Prepare means tests, repayment plans, reaffirmation agreements, amendments, and related filings.
Compile complete 341 meeting and hearing packets, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
Engage with clients, trustees, courts, and creditors to gather necessary documents and facilitate case progress.
Utilize platforms such as BestCase and Clio to maintain case accuracy and track progress.
Proactively manage deadlines to ensure smooth case progression from initiation to resolution.
