Job Summary
The Nuclear Pharmacist plays a critical role in adhering to sterile compounding practices while preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals. This position serves as the shift supervisor, ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures during their designated shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, company policies, corporate standards, and health and safety guidelines.
- Process and review customer orders from initial receipt to final packaging with accuracy and consistency.
- Set up and compound radiopharmaceuticals accurately.
- Manage shift operations in accordance with pharmacy policy, directing employee activities effectively.
- Oversee and perform leukocyte labeling procedures.
- Handle, package, and deliver radiopharmaceuticals and hazardous materials in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate drug inventory levels and necessary business supplies.
- Conduct and supervise required equipment tests, recording results manually.
- Perform quality control tests on prepared products to meet all quality requirements.
- Provide training and supervision to staff to ensure compliance with regulations and company health and safety policies.
- Manage returned medical waste and maintain reusable supplies in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laboratory in accordance with housekeeping schedules.
