ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team on a part-time 3-month contract, with the potential for permanent placement. This is a dynamic role where you will take charge of daily finance operations, while also identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
You will collaborate closely with the finance and operations teams, ensuring the integrity of financial data, maintaining organized records, and facilitating smooth month-end and reporting processes.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working autonomously, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be proactive in seeking opportunities for process enhancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ledger management: Process supplier invoices and credit notes with precise coding, maintain an organized purchase ledger, manage supplier payment runs, and raise sales invoices, ensuring the sales ledger is accurate.
- Reconciliations: Conduct regular bank reconciliations, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and maintain audit-ready financial records.
- Month-end support: Prepare journals, assist with month-end closing and reporting to ensure reliability of data, and support budgeting and variance analysis.
- Stakeholder communication: Address finance queries from internal teams, clients, and suppliers, exercising sound judgment and escalating issues as necessary.
