THE ROLE
As a part-time Emergency Veterinarian, your passion for helping animals and their owners will be at the forefront of your role. At VEG, we are dedicated to supporting your professional growth to ensure you become the most confident and skilled ER professional you can be. With a culture rooted in mentorship and ongoing education, you will engage in hands-on learning and comprehensive training opportunities. You will address emergencies of every kind, from simple cases to complex surgeries, ensuring that every pet receives quality care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide immediate responses to medical inquiries via phone
- Implement our unique triage system, VEG Triage and VEG Spikes, ensuring prompt attention for patients and allowing families to remain with their pets
- Collect key patient data including signalment, presenting complaints, vital signs, and examination results
- Perform thorough physical examinations and necessary diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, X-rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
- Formulate accurate diagnoses based on examination findings
