The Packaging Operator role is an essential direct labor position on the Manufacturing floor, reporting to the Process Execution Team Process Facilitator. This position is vital in supporting operational efficiency and involves operating machinery, conducting in-process monitoring, performing line clearances, collecting OEE data, conducting cosmetic inspections, and accurately completing batch record entries in compliance with cGMP standards.
Key responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized workspace to uphold cGMP standards, conducting 5S activities, and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety regulations. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets for area chemicals is essential.
You will also be tasked with performing batch record and GMP documentation entries, maintaining logs as needed, and utilizing mathematical skills where appropriate. An understanding of product security controls, including handling controlled substances, is required.
The role demands accountability for outgoing quality levels, with some overtime expected to meet business needs, and the ability to start up and make minor adjustments to machinery. Computer usage for data input, including SCADA and HMI entries, is part of the job.
Your duties will also encompass operating assigned machinery, managing the flow of materials, and conducting checks of in-process and finished goods. Reporting discrepancies to the process facilitator is crucial.
Additional responsibilities include performing inventory control and reconciliation activities, which may involve limited SAP use, and working with various printing devices. You may also be involved in OEE data collection, whether manually or through automated systems, and may serve as a certified OJT trainer as needed.
A willingness to cross-train in various packaging functions, as well as experience with chemical handling and spill control procedures, will be beneficial. You will assist mechanical staff with preventive maintenance when necessary.
