The Operations Manager for the 1st Shift at OSI Industries, LLC is a pivotal role that focuses on overseeing production operations at the facility level. The primary objective is to meet and exceed established goals related to quality, employee engagement, cost management, safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a dedicated team, exercising authority in hiring and performance evaluations.
- Supervise a team of 1 to 5 employees, providing guidance and support.
- Set and achieve departmental goals in quality, safety, productivity, and cost, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement systems to monitor departmental activities, identifying success areas and opportunities for enhancing production efficiency and profitability.
- Provide necessary training, direction, and resources to managers to achieve individual and departmental goals, continuously monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to safety, quality, and good manufacturing practices by effectively communicating requirements to employees.
- Contribute to the development and execution of innovative manufacturing processes and systems based on production expertise.
- Engage with current and prospective customers through presentations, tours, and reviews, showcasing production operations expertise.
- Establish, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures that align with corporate objectives.
- Facilitate coordination among Operations, Quality, Safety, Human Resources, and Maintenance to promptly address issues and ensure facility objectives are met.
- Commit to understanding and implementing appropriate safety procedures through education, training, and adherence to safety policies and regulations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
