About the Role:
The Operations & Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in managing the daily physical operations of the Fair Ridge Emergency Shelter. This position is dedicated to ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include overseeing facility maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance, coordinating with vendors, and managing inventory. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a background in building maintenance, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced shelter environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of shelter facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems while coordinating with Fairfax County.
- Ensure functionality of computer and communication equipment, ensuring seamless telephonic and internet connectivity.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance in collaboration with Fairfax County to guarantee safety and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate and supervise repairs and maintenance tasks, whether performed in-house or outsourced to external contractors.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper upkeep of both the interior and exterior grounds of the facility.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to respond to the shelter's operational needs, which may include after-hours tasks.
