Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is actively seeking a skilled OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer to enhance our systems team. In this role, you will provide vital support to application developers and operations for the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), part of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) under the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This full-time position is based in Bethesda, MD, with the flexibility for remote work.
The NCBI plays a critical role in advancing science and public health by offering free internet access to biomedical literature and genomic data, making it one of the top 400 most-visited websites globally. Our team consists of diverse, talented professionals dedicated to creating indispensable services for researchers, healthcare providers, educators, and the public. Notable projects include the development of PubMed, which indexes over 29 million biomedical research abstracts, and the maintenance of ClinicalTrials.gov, hosting over 400,000 clinical studies worldwide.
As a member of the Systems & DevOps team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of infrastructure that supports NCBI's numerous applications. This includes providing scalable and efficient solutions for development, deployment, and operations across various teams and environments, both cloud-based and on-premises.
