JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Banquet Set-Up Attendant, you will be responsible for preparing and arranging designated function rooms according to the specific requirements of group events, ensuring compliance with the hotel’s high standards. You will also maintain the cleanliness and functionality of all relevant equipment and service areas to provide an exceptional experience for our guests.
REPORTS TO: Director of Banquets, Banquet Set-Up Manager, Banquet Set-Up Assistant Manager, and/or Banquet Set-Up Supervisor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Your work will take place in banquet and meeting rooms, various hotel locations designated for group functions, service areas within the hotel, and occasionally at off-premise events. This role involves working under varying temperature conditions and noise levels, both indoors and outdoors, and handling chemicals safely.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Collaborate closely with team members in Banquet, Banquet Set Up, Catering/Convention Services, Kitchen, Stewarding, and Audio Visual Innovations. External: Engage with hotel guests and various banquet function vendors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Adhere to all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Understand and use equipment correctly to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Proactively anticipate and respond to guests’ needs, ensuring positive relations.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly to maintain satisfaction.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel services, features, and local attractions.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
- Stay informed about daily scheduled group functions, including times and locations.
- Maintain knowledge of all meeting and banquet room setups and safety guidelines.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals per OSHA regulations.
- Review and update assignment sheets with your Supervisor throughout your shift.
- Organize and transport supplies to assigned function areas.
- Inspect rooms for cleanliness and compliance with group requirements.
