AECOM is seeking an innovative and highly skilled Northern California Water and Wastewater Practice Leader to join our team immediately. This pivotal role centers on treatment design engineering for municipal water, wastewater, and reuse systems, offering significant opportunities for client engagement across Northern California. The selected candidate can be based in any of our offices located in Sacramento, San Francisco, or Oakland.
This technical and strategic leadership position provides a unique chance to guide and expand AECOM’s water business across a diverse portfolio of municipal, state, and federal projects in Northern California. The ideal candidate will excel as a seller/doer, integrating business development, technical leadership, project execution, and mentorship of staff. The role involves collaboration with leading regional and national experts to develop innovative solutions and enhance our presence in the water/wastewater sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive business development initiatives and nurture relationships with municipal clients.
Collaborate with regional and national experts to deliver innovative solutions and pursue new opportunities.
Lead proposal development alongside senior technical and marketing staff.
Serve as Client Services Manager for selected clients.
Oversee and deliver intricate water, wastewater, and reuse projects, including treatment facilities and storage systems.
Manage project components such as reports, hydraulic modeling, calculations, drawings, specifications, permitting, and construction-phase services.
Execute project management tasks including scope, schedule, and budget development; team coordination; regulatory engagement; invoicing; and consultant oversight.
Mentor junior staff and promote professional development, focusing on treatment design.
Ensure the implementation of innovative, sound, and efficient design solutions.
Develop and enhance tools, processes, and standards to improve design consistency and delivery.
