About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a talented New Product Development (NPD) Specialist to become a vital member of our client's innovative team. Our client is a renowned global leader in kitchenware and cookware solutions.
As the NPD Specialist, you will be responsible for the complete development lifecycle of new kitchenware and cookware products, guiding them from initial concept through to successful commercialization. Your role will ensure that all products meet market demands, align with manufacturing capabilities, and adhere to brand standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners located in China and Latin America to deliver exceptional, market-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of new product development (NPD) projects within the cookware and kitchenware sectors.
- Collaborate with design, sourcing, and marketing teams to establish product specifications, materials, and production methodologies.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to pinpoint innovation opportunities and product deficiencies.
- Engage with suppliers and factories to guarantee that quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery timelines are upheld.
- Oversee prototype development, testing, and product validation.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and documentation throughout all stages of NPD.
- Ensure compliance with international quality and safety standards (e.g., FDA, LFGB).
- Provide technical expertise on materials, coatings, and production technologies pertinent to cookware.
- Contribute to the client's long-term innovation and continuous improvement strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, ideally within the cookware, kitchenware, or small domestic appliances sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing NPD projects from concept through to launch.
- Strong understanding of cookware materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, non-stick coatings).
- Experience in OEM/ODM environments or collaborating with international brands.
- Exceptional communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Spanish/Portuguese is highly advantageous.
- Based in China or Latin America, with a willingness to travel both regionally and internationally.
