The Medical Editor plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality editorial services for assigned accounts. This includes overseeing the medical editing process, fact-checking, and preparing pharmaceutical marketing material submissions. The ideal candidate will excel in managing multiple deadline-driven projects, demonstrate independence, possess meticulous attention to detail, and exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Editing:
- Perform comprehensive copy editing to ensure correct spelling, grammar, consistency, tone, adherence to creative briefs, and accurate referencing according to client and AMA style guides.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking and clean readings, evaluating unbranded claims, core promotional materials, and data-related assertions.
- Review client and MLR (Medical/Legal/Regulatory) changes in the context of the complete piece and edit accordingly.
- Prepare materials for MLR submission, ensuring all tagging and linking is accurately executed within the client's submission system.
- Agency Processes:
- Lead editing responsibilities across one or more accounts.
- Represent the editorial department in internal kickoff and status meetings.
- Exhibit proficiency in and adherence to established editorial review processes and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with each client’s specific MLR submission protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with assigned account teams to identify and propose efficiencies in the internal routing process.
