Material Planner
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 5am-3:30pm
Starting pay: $26.13/hr

Position Overview: As a Material Planner at New Flyer, you will be instrumental in optimizing the efficiency of our materials department. Your role will involve coordinating material planning activities to ensure timely availability of materials for production, minimizing excess inventory, and fostering continuous improvement within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the processing of materials to the point of use (POU) by the required date.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory in your assigned area and manage reject requirements accurately.
- Oversee materials requirements planning (MRP); engage with MRP messages and track daily order action summaries (OAS).
- Promote continuous improvement and aid in the development and communication of policies, guidelines, and tools to enhance process success.
- Monitor, measure, and achieve all material-related metrics.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal teams by collaborating with key departments to ensure completion of essential tasks.
- Assist manufacturing leadership with daily operations within your designated area.
- Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications for Success:
- Demonstrated experience in materials planning or a related field.
- Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Knowledge of ISO procedures and continuous improvement methodologies.
- A preferred degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
