The Manufacturing Supervisor for the 2nd Shift plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the fulfillment department's workforce to guarantee precise and efficient operations across multiple shifts, departments, and vendor partnerships. This position employs effective management strategies to nurture talent, enhance skills, and refine processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff in the kitting/fulfillment and pick-pack departments.
- Guides employee activities to foster accurate communication and seamless operations across shifts, departments, and vendor relationships.
- Enhances employee efficiency and morale through effective leadership and established management and human relations principles.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, ISO standards, SOPs, continuous improvement methodologies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates closely with customer service, scheduling, manufacturing teams, and external vendors to ensure prompt production and delivery of products.
- Strategically plans and adjusts workflow schedules based on evolving business demands.
- Organizes work for optimal efficiency, ensuring departmental objectives related to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and KPIs are established and attained.
- Implements policies and procedures, recommending adjustments where necessary. Fosters positive employee relations practices. Participates in hiring, promotion, recognition, disciplinary actions, and terminations while ensuring proper documentation.
- Monitors department expenditures and labor costs to ensure alignment with budgetary goals, providing analytical reports to management.
- Diagnoses process issues as they arise, collaborating with team members to resolve challenges and requesting additional resources when necessary.
- Encourages a positive work culture, robust training programs, and compliance with ISO work instructions and procedures.
- Coordinates with other departments to assure the accuracy of operations and timely shipping of products to customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
