We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Manager to enhance our team. You will embody a proactive leadership style, demonstrating professionalism and strong interpersonal instincts. Your collaborative problem-solving abilities will be crucial in evaluating advertising and programming content, exercising initiative, sound judgment, and decisive action. You will be adept at identifying issues, responding swiftly, and making informed decisions to uphold NBCUniversal's integrity and maintain audience trust. Given our multi-disciplinary team environment, flexibility is key, as you will contribute across both advertising and program standards as needed.
This position is based in Universal City, Los Angeles, reporting to the Vice President of Standards. Our department is geographically diverse with teams located in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York; therefore, effective collaboration with colleagues across all locations is essential to achieve our shared goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor early career team members, fostering a culture of coaching, learning, feedback, and teamwork that promotes collaboration and innovation.
- Analyze complex commercial categories and related marketing, scientific, and other data submitted for advertising claim substantiation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Screen and assign TV Parental Guidelines ratings for various programming formats and platforms, ensuring standards and regulatory compliance while exercising sensitive contextual judgment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (Communications, Legal, Programming, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations) and external stakeholders (creative executives, advertising agencies, legal counsel) to ensure departmental effectiveness and alignment with company objectives.
- Conceptualize and lead initiatives to enhance departmental operations and efficiency.
- Manage the delay mechanism for live programming, including during non-standard hours.
