POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Toddler Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for toddlers. This position involves collaborating with families to support their children's academic, social, and emotional growth. The teacher will design, schedule, and execute engaging daily programs, while also observing and documenting children's progress. Effective communication with parents and guardians is key to keeping them informed about their children's development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
- Ensure the classroom is well-organized, aesthetically pleasing, and clean.
- Implement an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes learning.
- Support various age groups and classes as needed.
- Engage in YMCA-sponsored events and activities.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops to further professional development.
- Provide nurturing interactions and encouragement for all children.
- Exhibit strong relationship-building skills in all communications.
- Attend training and meetings in the absence of the Lead Teacher when necessary.
- Perform additional job-related duties as required.
- Adhere to all health department standards and YMCA regulations.
- Maintain hygiene practices in accordance with CDC guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience working with preschool children.
- Fulfill training requirements as mandated by the Office of Licensing.
- Ability to connect with diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds.
- Experience in curriculum assistance and teamwork is essential.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required; Child Abuse Prevention training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
