About the Role
We are on the lookout for a Lead Game Programmer to shape the technical direction of our internal Unity project. In this pivotal role, you will lead a skilled team of engineers, design and architect robust systems, and ensure optimal performance and scalability across various platforms.
This role is highly hands-on, requiring you to write clean, efficient code while mentoring junior developers. You will work closely with design and art teams to bring gameplay features to life. Initially, your focus will be on internal projects, with a planned transition towards co-development (codev) services, collaborating with external teams and projects once internal milestones are successfully met.
Responsibilities
- Guide the engineering team in developing and optimizing core gameplay systems, tools, and pipelines within Unity (C#).
- Establish the project’s technical architecture, ensuring seamless integration between systems.
- Work collaboratively with design and art leads to prototype and enhance gameplay features.
- Conduct code reviews, uphold coding standards, and ensure technical excellence.
- Proactively identify technical risks and propose effective solutions.
- Mentor and nurture the technical team, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Contribute to the development of processes and best practices that will support future co-development projects.
