Your Role
Epic is seeking a seasoned Environment Art Lead to join our Rocket League team. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Art Director to define, uphold, and enhance the visual quality of Rocket League's environments, ensuring a balance of realism, clarity, and performance. You will lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary artists and external partners to deliver visually stunning environments at scale. This position demands a robust blend of artistic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills, with proven experience in launching games that feature realistic 3D environments and managing extensive outsourcing pipelines. Collaborating with the Art Director, Design Leads, Programmers, and Production, you will be responsible for comprehending the creative direction, guiding execution, reviewing work, and ensuring that the team produces visually cohesive, high-performing, and engaging environments.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate high levels of creativity by defining and driving the Environment Art vision for Rocket League while adhering to established visual guidelines.
- Collaborate with Discipline Leads, Production, and Outsource teams to efficiently deliver high-quality content.
- Transform high-level directives into clear, actionable guidance for both internal teams and external partners.
- Support the Art Director by conducting reviews, providing early-stage feedback, and ensuring team alignment.
- Represent the Art Director in cross-discipline meetings, reviews, and planning discussions when necessary.
What We Look For
- A deep understanding of environment art in gaming, including realistic architecture, natural landscapes, and the integration of both manmade and organic elements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large outsourcing pipelines, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the process.
