SUMMARY
The Juvenile Justice Clinician is responsible for providing personalized, trauma-informed therapeutic services to youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The clinician works collaboratively with various stakeholders to implement interventions that foster emotional regulation, accountability, and long-lasting stability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver individualized therapeutic support utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed methodologies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify risks, strengths, and service requirements using tools like the YASI.
- Create customized case plans with SMART goals and specific intervention strategies.
- Provide clinical case management and facilitate referrals to mental health, substance use, and community services.
- Engage in multi-disciplinary case reviews, probation updates, and re-entry planning sessions.
- Track case progress and modify interventions according to the youth’s responsiveness and changing needs.
- Collaborate with the Juvenile Justice Liaison and Group & Community Specialist to align individual and group services for each youth.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of outcomes in alignment with CCBYS and IDHS standards.
- Support family-inclusive services, including involvement in caregiver support and reintegration planning.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer reviews, and professional growth initiatives.
- Adhere to confidentiality, mandated reporting laws, and licensing requirements.
- Uphold trauma-informed principles and the 7 Essential Ingredients in all interactions with youth and families.
Training Requirements:
- Complete all Core Curriculum training(s) necessary for the role.
- Adhere to IDHS program standards and requirements for CCBYS.
- Comply with mandated reporting laws established by the State of Illinois.
